I must confess that I'm yet another one of those women who "only wears black, white and maybe gray". But even I'm willing to venture out of my comfort zone this spring because bold solids in bright hues are all the rage! Seriously, you can do it. Here's some help if you too are color phobic...
There's nothing I love more than wearing denim on a daily basis. Since I'm halfway through my pregnancy and not in the market for new fall denim jeans anytime soon, I'm thrilled that denim jackets are popping up everywhere in a variety of styles. Can't get enough!

With summer in full swing I needed something to desperately cover my white legs that have been hiding under jeans since last year. While pregnant I'm careful to use only products with natural ingredients whenever possible. There are lots out there that made me more of a shade of orange than giving me a sunkissed glow. Jurlique Sun Specialist Sunless Tanner has been my favorite natural-looking lotion to lather on post shower and I'm addicted. It's just the right amount of darkening to feel confident enough about wearing dresses and it looks like I just spent some extra time in the sun. In fact, most of Jurlique's products (Rosewater Balancing Mist) have been on frequent rotation.
If you haven't already heard about Kayla Itsines, the 24-year-old Australian trainer and her "BBG" (Beach Body Guide) community you must join the party. Her 28-minute high intensity 12-week guides are a favorite among moms all over the world. I'm a huge fan because I want a great workout and don't have a lot of time. It's also doable anywhere from my garage to the gym and while on vacation. Now that I'm in mid-pregnancy I'm having to modify lots of the moves so that I stay within a 140 heart rate, but I still feel like I'm getting a kickass workout! Kayla has created a huge worldwide "BBG" following with group meet-ups in practically every city, if you're more of a group workout kind of gal.
I discovered Beyond Yoga about a year ago and haven't looked back. Its super soft fabric and flattering designs always, always step up my exercise game. I'm not a fan of wearing workout clothes outside the gym, but the new Beyond Yoga x Kate Spade collection is an exception. Every. Single. Time. I wear one of these pieces, I'm asked where I got it. Get yours at Shopbop.com, Nordstrom and Beyond Yoga.
Most people aren't too concerned about their Vitamin D level. Those of you who have gotten it checked were likely told that your level is just fine. The range of normal used to be anywhere from 30 to 100 ng/mL, but the latest research suggests that somewhere closer to 50-80 ng/mL is optimal. Why is it so important? Besides helping with bone growth for adults and children, a good Vitamin D level helps regulate the immune system and the neuromuscular system. Vitamin D also plays major roles in the life cycle of human cells.
Since most people either don't go out in the sun enough, or lather on sunscreen, they don't get enough Vitamin D for your body to make it on its own. My suggestion? Get your Vitamin D level tested next time you go in for blood work. If you're under 50 ng/mL, talk to your doctor about starting a daily supplement ASAP!
I know that it's rare to find a pair of jeans that compliment all the right places. But when you do you buy one black and one blue pair, and even contemplate dry cleaning them so that they stay in tact. It's even more rare to notice that each one of your friends looks great in the same pair. There are hundreds of styles to suit every body type, but I gotta say⎼ I've purchased the James Jeans Twiggy High Class Skinny Jeans for practically every client that I style and each girl tells me she won't take these off. No need to hem them either if you're on the shorter side...a bit of gather at the bottom is just as cool.
Does anyone else agree that this winter and early spring has been particularly drier than seasons past? We're now just into April and I still need a few layers on hand cream a day to keep up with the cracking. My lips on the other hand, have walked away unscathed. That's all thanks to Yes to Coconut cooling lip oil. The scent is totally irresistible and made withVirgin Coconut, Olive, and cooling Eucalyptus, it keeps lips smooth and very moisturized. Plus there's lots of shine so I don't have to worry about adding gloss!
Besides my fashion addiction and my love of styling clients, one of the reasons why I want to combine my work as a wardrobe stylist and as a health coach is because I think the two go hand in hand. Feeling your best on the outside helps with self confidence, happiness and anxiety. Feeling tired and run down doesn't mean you need to schlep around in your Lululemon and beat up sneakers all day. Here are some of the new spring shoe trends that'll have you looking on point and keep you super comfy for your busy schedule.
